What makes us buy? Emotions.
It's why I buy (yet another) Disney mug. Because it makes me feel good. It stirs up a lifetime of happy memories. It's sure as hell not cuz I need another mug!
I'm literally tearing up a little thinking of my mug with Belle's Reprise - I want adventure in the great wide somewhere. SHE GETS ME.
We love to think that we buy based on smart logic and rationale, but science shows that ain't it.
(Though we DO use logic to back up our decisions and explain it to others... like when you tell to your spouse why something was a 'good buy' ;)
Harvard professor Gerald Zaltman maintains that 95% of decisions are driven by unconscious urges, the biggest of which is emotion.
If you connect with people at a soul-stirring emotional level - if they feel something when they read your page - you're MUCH closer to a sale.
Now, make your offer irresistible...

Put simply: we don't buy things we don't want.
(At least, not if we can avoid it!)
Even things we 'need' get pushed aside to make way for things we want.
Like me. Yes I SHOULD install that valve thingy on my air-conditioning system, but... meh!
Positioning your offer as a need SEEMS like a good idea.
Counterintuitively though, programs positioned as a desirable must-have are the ones that sell like hotcakes.
It's a subtle difference - that makes a BIG difference to sales.
Next, ease the doubts of even the most skeptical buyers...

How many times have you looked at a sales page and thought that?
